NOTES FROM SIR BREN'S SITE:
I wrote this song originally with Baron Sir Nicholas deKane, with a little help from Baroness Judith deBeaumont. Originally we had only two verses (the first and third). But later, Sir Micah Longbow pointed out that it was just too sudden of a change from wanting the castle to owning it, so he wrote verse two as a bridge between them. This is the result.

Note on why I have this song:
Duke Sir Gabriel learned this from Earl Syr Mika Cord Longbow in the Phillipines in 1980 and sang it in Calontir.

I sure want your stately castle with a wench in every room,
And I want the gold you've hidden, down in your dungeon gloom.
But you say I should be happy with my white belt and my chain,
And leave you in your castle while my mail rusts in the rain!

Silver swords and golden axes cannot rend this helm of mine!
And I'm gonna take your castle and your wenches so divine.
I will kill all your retainers, in the dungeon you will pine.
Silver swords and golden axes cannot rend this helm of mine!

Now I'm at your stately castle, slaying left and right,
Laying down your retainers in the early morning light.
So now across the drawbridge and on into the keep.
Tonight we take our plunder, with your wenches we will sleep!

Silver swords and golden axes cannot rend this helm of mine!
And I'm gonna take your castle and your wenches so divine.
I will kill all your retainers, in the dungeon you will pine.
Silver swords and golden axes cannot rend this helm of mine!

Now I have your stately castle with a wench in every room.
And I have the gold you'd hidden down in the dungeon gloom.
And I guess I should be happy with my jewels and my rings,
But there's someone at the drawbridge and this is what he sings!

Silver swords and golden axes cannot rend this helm of mine!
And I'm gonna take your castle and your wenches so divine.
I will kill all your retainers, in the dungeon you will pine.
Silver swords and golden axes cannot rend this helm of mine!
